This policy explains how we collect, use, and store personal information through this website and the hire service, and how the Bark Marker device itself handles audio. What we collect
Hire enquiries: When you contact us to hire a unit, whether through the enquiry form or by email, we collect the details you provide. That typically includes your name, email address, phone number, suburb or postcode, and the message describing your situation. We use this to respond to you, arrange delivery or postage, and provide the service.
Analytics: We use website analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify individuals. You can limit it through your browser’s privacy settings or a content-blocking extension.
Email correspondence: If you email [email protected], we retain that correspondence so we can respond to and manage your enquiry.
How we use your information

Audio recordings and the Bark Marker device
This is important, so it has its own section. The Bark Marker device processes audio locally, on the device itself. Detection and learning happen on the unit, and any recordings or audio data stay on it. Audio is not uploaded to us, to any cloud service, or to any third party as part of the device’s normal operation.
That means the audio captured during your hire is in your control and is your responsibility. You are responsible for how you position and use the unit and for understanding the laws that apply to recording sound where you live. There is more on this in our terms and disclaimer.
Data storage and security
We store hire-enquiry details and correspondence only for as long as needed to provide the service and to keep reasonable records. We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

- Request correction of information that is inaccurate
- Request deletion of your information
