Hire a Bark Marker unit

If a neighbour’s dog won’t stop barking and you need real evidence, you can hire a ready-to-go Bark Marker unit by the week. It works just as well the other way around: if you are a dog owner who has been accused and you want to prove your dog is not the one barking while you are out, the same unit gives you an objective record either way. You do not buy anything or set up anything technical. You get a unit that is already configured, help getting it running, and a finished evidence report at the end.

What it costs

$100 per week (inc GST). That covers the unit itself, getting you set up, and the evidence report generated from your monitoring period. There is no long contract: you hire it for as long as you need to capture a solid run of evidence, which is usually a week or two.

There is also a $50 deposit on the unit, fully refundable when you return it safely and in working order at the end of the hire. It simply covers the gear while it is in your hands.

If you are outside the Moreton Bay region, postage is a flat $20 (inc GST), and that includes the return postage back to me, so there is nothing more to pay at the end. Inside Moreton Bay, delivery is free. All prices include GST.

What you receive

• A ready-to-go unit. It arrives pre-configured. You plug it in, point it toward the noise, and it starts listening. No fiddly setup.
• Setup help. I will walk you through placement and how to confirm events from your phone, so you are capturing good data from day one.
• A timestamped evidence report. At the end of the hire I generate your report: hourly distribution, daily patterns, a full incident log, possible triggers, and a methodology declaration. You can see exactly what that looks like on the sample report page.

Delivery and mail-out

Inside the Moreton Bay region (MBCC): I deliver the unit to you and can help you get it positioned and running. Local drop-off keeps it simple and means I can make sure you are set up properly.

Anywhere else in Australia: I post the unit to you with clear setup instructions, and I am on the other end of an email if you get stuck. Postage is a flat $20 (inc GST) that covers sending it to you and the return postage back, so there is nothing extra to sort out at the end. Wherever you are in the country, you still get the full service, including the report. Posting does mean a day or two each way, so factor that into your timing.

Either way, the outcome is the same: a unit doing the listening for you, and a report in your hands at the end.

Before you hire: try talking to the owner first

I always say this, because I mean it. If you have not already, it is worth a calm conversation with the dog’s owner before anything else. Plenty of owners are out at work and have genuinely no idea their dog is barking. A Bark Marker report can actually help that conversation by replacing “your dog barks constantly” with a clear, factual record, which takes the heat out of it. The best result is the one where you never need the council at all.
